Update on Compensation Law
We want to update you regarding the Polio Law (March 19, 2007).
The government tried to make some changes in the law recently, and the Polio Association in Israel demonstrated. We knew that the majority of the members in the KNESSET (ISRAELI PARLIAMENT) were in favour of the law. Three days ago, we reached an agreement with the Minister of Treasury that no changes will be made with regard to the law except that the lump sum payments will be done in two payments, one after the claim is approved and the second a year after (indexed).
Soon polio survivors will be able to submit a claim at www.btl.gov.il.
